I’ve been feeling very motivated lately, which I think is a good thing. :) I would’ve finished my workout of the day earlier, but something was cancelled last minute, causing me to wait for something that wasn’t going to happen. Haha, oh well. I’m just glad today was HIIT day. My workout time is cut short this way. :) I did the FitnessBlender video that I dreaded awhile back. My body wasn’t tired, but I was panting, out of breath, and my heart was pounding. I took some breaks, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t do it as well as I would’ve hoped to, but I’ll be working on it! I’ve also been researching, and came across this article that really opened my eyes to types of training. I want to focus more on getting strong instead of looking strong. Sure, I look toner and leaner than I was a few months ago, but my strength and endurance hasn’t been up to par. I want to be able to endure tough routines and put on muscle. If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve been following the Olympics, and the track and field athletes have killer bodies! Take Lolo Jones for example. I think now, I look to her for inspiration. I admire her because she’s very determined. Anyways, my quest is to be the part, not just look it. I’ve seriously been overdoing my workouts for a long time. I’m glad that I actually digged deeper and did some research to find out what routine is best for me. I’m still tweaking it a bit, but so far so good. I’m actually looking forward to my workouts, I have more energy, and I can now put 110% into my HIIT workouts. I got a real bad misconception of it before, but I’m glad to be heading in the right path now. Due to overtraining, the more rest I get, the more the results catch up. I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t matter what exercise you do. What matters is what you consume and put into your body. I’m more comfortable with myself, surprisingly to say. I hope to see more changes with this new plan. It definitely works well with my schedule and isn’t as time consuming. :) I have also revisited some old music, as you can see, and they really do bring back memories. Today’s #workout was short, but that’s probably what you’re going to see from me from now on. I think that my exercise routines has been excessive and even obsessive, so I’m decreasing it, especially cardio. I’m really going to emphasize on pilates and calisthenics now, since they’re my source of strength training. The reason why I haven’t been feeling or seeing a difference is because I’m overtraining, so I’m switching things up. I hope that this is the better way to head. I already feel like this change will help me learn to not to think of exercise as a sort of a burden. :) I also feel like I focused on the exercises more and put more of my all into it. One of my longer workouts! After Sunday, I’m finally back in the game. These last few days have been slow, but I regained my willpower and motivation. I didn’t feel like I worked out my legs enough after I did two videos (which equaled my daily toning time), so I did more. Now my legs are dead. I’m going to be sore tomorrow, but its worth it. I had THE worst cramps ever during the Ski Conditioning workout, that I had to lay on the floor to regain the strength to stand again. Aaahhh, the pains. The hardest part of that workout were the tricep dips due to my arms being on the weaker side. This #workout is also shorter than my other ones (or it seems like it), but that’s okay. I’ll myself some slack today. So, this #workout was difficult because I took 3 days off the previous week, meaning I only worked out for 4. I didn’t feel like I was working out hard enough during the first HIIT round, but my drenched up shirt changed my mind. I aim to exercise 5 days a week, and last week, with all the dedication in Zutara Week stuff and vocal lessons, it just caught me off guard. Anyways, I did abs and obliques today, and I feel good. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat this much. I really pushed myself, and by pushed, I mean I told myself to keep going when I wanted to give up or was wanting to take really long breaks. I remember doing Tabata for the first time, and I was dead by the end. This time, this #workout burned A LOT worse, but I felt amazing afterwards. I even fell over a few times (nothing serious), but I got right back up and continued. I was determined to complete this. Since I didn’t want to do something that I had already done, I did 2 new #FitnessBlender videos and an #AmandaRussell video that I’ve never done. These were all based on endurance, and I endured it all. I may have paused a few times, but I didn’t let my mind talk me into giving up. If you’re looking for something new and exciting, I suggest Tabata. It’s intense, but only attempt if you have a solid baseline of cardio. Anyways, it may be too early to say this, but I think I enjoy Tabata, even if it knocks the breath out of me. Today’s routine wasn’t killer, but EXTREMELY KILLER. Anyways, I am loving the songs, especially from Maroon 5’s new album, Overexposed. I seriously need to get it, even if it means postponing the date of getting a new phone. I just love their songs and them so much. Big fan here, guys. Enough fangirling. I jumped back into doing pilates, and it burned like crazy.
